He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesus Villarreal and Ramona Martinez Villarreal; his stepfather Juan Guel; his siblings, Nicolas Guel, Joseph Manuel Guel, Miguel "Mike" Guel (Karen), Arthur Guel (Amy), Anita Rivera (Marcos) and Connie Guel Persha; his siblings-in-law, Margie Valdez, Doug Persha, Arturo "Pie" Lopez, Raymundo Cuellar, Alfonso Cuellar, Albert Garza and Manuel Valdez; and also, Gracie, Lady and Binkie II.
He is survived by: his wife Hilda Villareal; his children, Denise Villareal Perez (Juan) and John A. Villareal (Brenda); his grandchildren, Brielle Perez, Dalton Perez and John E. Villareal; and his siblings, Jesse Villarreal (Esther), Ricardo Villarreal (Josie), Dino Villarreal, Biatriz Lopez, Maria Luisa Saucedo, Dora Bonilla (Luciano) and Gloria Guel Barba. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.
