He is survived by: his wife Martha Jane Walton Gatz; his son David Thomas Gatz (Karen); his grandsons, Christopher and Collin (Kristen); his great grandchildren, Leo and Skylar; his daughters, Patricia Lynne Buikema (Chuck) and Kathryn Meares Short; his grandsons, David and Todd Short (Carrie); and his great grandchild Davis.
