He is survived by: his wife Carol; and his daughters, Dana Watson (Butch Watson) of New Braunfels, Teri Estes of Dallas, Sharyl Dawkins of Carrollton and Meridyth Griffin of Dallas. He is also survived by his eight grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

He will be remembered by all who knew him as a loving and loyal man who was a faithful, servant of Christ and strove to live a life of Christian virtue and charity.

“Dr. Bland and Dr. Lazar operated on our 6 week old son with hydrocephalus in 1977 at Medical City Dallas. He had several subsequent surgeries and all were successful ! Then, 30 years later both performed neck surgery for me! Such a wonderful man and my son and I were so fortunate to have Dr. Bland and Dr Lazar on our team! Our prayers and condolences.
