He was predeceased by: his mother Betty Murphy (Thaxton); his wife Linda Murphy (Parker); his brother William Clarke Murphy; and his father James Austin Murphy. He is survived by: his daughter Megan (Murphy); his son-in-law Kevin Brown; his grandchildren, Colin and Waverly of San Anselmo, California; and his sisters, Elise Murphy and Marynell Murphy of Dallas, Texas..
