He was predeceased by: his parents, Gus Sr. and Annie; his son Rick Schluter; and his siblings, Calvis Barnett (Birdie), Emma, Vauda and Velma.
He is survived by: his wife Rev. Joan; his children, Mitzie Jefferson, Charles Jefferson (Sallie), Ronald Wheatley and Greg Wheatley (Nancy); his grandchildren, Sydney Jefferson-Wilson, Trent, Kegan and Shantel; and his sister Darlene Jenkins. He is also survived by numerous other family members; and friends.
