He is survived by: his wife Mary; his children, Mark Elkins (Sherry), Charlotte Hughes (James) and Myra Ortmann; and his siblings, Paul Elkins (Becky), Louise Clements, Ann Martin and Linda Barnes (David). He is also survived by his 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
