He is survived by: his wife Mary Tate; his children, Monica Boyd (Edwin), Eligha Ward III (Monique), Stacey Smith (Eddie) and Charles Edwards (Vanessa); his daughter-in-law LaTanya Edwards; his brother Edward Tate (Christy); his niece Phyllicia Tate; and his friend Finley "Fin" Ewing. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, 2 nephews, 1 great-nephew.
