He was predeceased by: his parents, Bobbie Gail Cox and Charles Jack Cox; his sister Jackie Ruth; and his nephews, Taylor Trent Harris and Anthony Cox.

He is survived by: his children, Wanda Cox (Jacob Smith) of Rockwall and Donnie Cox of Quinlan; his grandchildren, Emily Taylor (Jordan Taylor), Kacey Grissom and Asher Smith; and his siblings, Jackson Cox of Pointe, Suzy Cox-Cruz of Dallas, David "Butch" Cox of Dallas, Glenda Gail and Patricia.

The family kindly requests that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to the AML Cancer Foundation in honor of Don's memory.
