She was predeceased by: her son Tommy Bishop; and her parent Maurine Gaylor. She is survived by: her husband David Lichtenwalter; her sons, Danny Bishop and David Bishop; her daughters-in-law, Paige Bishop and Clarice Bishop; her grandchildren, Matthew, Morgan, Molly, Benton, Jeffrey and Tucker; and her great grandchildren, Jaxson, Jaycee, Marty, Indie, Tatum, Jolie, Sonny and Atlas. She is also survived by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Doris also made significant contributions to healthcare and civic organizations, serving as President of the Hospital Guild, Executive Director of Miss Oak Cliff, and sitting on the board of directors for Methodist Hospital.
