She was predeceased by : her parents, O. D. May Sr. and Ernestine Patterson May; her spouse A. V. Cox Sr.; her daughter Belinda Jean Bolden; and her siblings, Billy May, O. D. May Jr., James May Sr. and Bennie May.

She is survived by : her children, Regina Lavergne (Terrell), A. V. Cox Jr., Felicia Cox and Marcus Cox; and her siblings, Barbara Ann Williams, Bruce May and Bryan May. She is also survived by Twelve grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren; and host of nieces, nephews.
