He is survived by: his former wife Erma Reeves; his siblings, Mae Pearl Sims, Everett Sims, Jr., Chester Sims, Benjamin Sims, Bernice Barfield and Mae Pearl Newby; his wife Evelyn Thomas; his sons, Ronnie Earl of Dallas, TX, Benjamin Ross of Dallas, TX, Hassell Ross of Dallas, TX and Richard Thomas of Dallas, TX; and his brother George Sims Austin (Gloria). He is also survived by five granddaughters, three grandsons, six great-grandchildren.
