She is survived by: her husband James O. Mitchell, Sr.; her sons, Diangelo D. Lyles and Demetruis L. Lyles; her grandson Adam J. Mitchell; her sister Daisy Leigh Settles; her brother-in-law Earl "Uncle Mack" Wisdom; her daughter-in-law Lydia Jackson; her children, Richard Reese (Barbara), Charles Jackson, Cassandra LeDay-Weber (Joseph), Sharon Lyles, James O. Mitchell, Tonja Mitchell-Brodsky and Yolanda Taubenfeld (Jeremy); and her adoptive children, James Mitchell III, Shirley Mitchell and Martez Mitchell (Abrill). She is also survived by grandchildren; (20) great grandchildren; (9) great-great grandchildren along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, December 6th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Peaceful Rest Funeral Home (3302 E Illinois Ave, Dallas, TX 75216). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, December 7th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Faith Cathedral (3907 Holmes St, Dallas, TX 75215).
