She was predeceased by: her parents, Marion Johnson and Roberta Lee Johnson. She is survived by: her spouse Anza Columbus Tipps; her children, Erwin Keith, Alondra Evette and Miguel Tipps; her sisters, Matry Sanders of DeSoto and Carolyn Simpson of Palestine, Texas; and her siblings-in-law, Azil Tipps (Ellen) of Dallas, Texas, Gloredia Tipps Phillips of Groesbeck, Ozzie Tipps Edwards of San Diego and Cornelia Johnson of Mt. Enterprise, Texas. She is also survived by twenty nieces; fourteen nephews; and a host of great and great-great nieces and nephews.
