With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Catherine Houghton of Dallas, Texas, born in Ranger, Texas, who passed away on December 8, 2023 at the age of 98. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Walter Murray and Blanche Murray (Talley); her husband Bill Houghton; her son-in-law Jerry Smith; and her sisters, Doris Rawlin, Mavis Smith and Marilyn Hickey.

She is survived by: her daughters, Jan Smith and Deborah Arnold (Frank Grassler); her grandchildren, Cathi Hohlt (Kevin), Cindy Harris (Robert), Jerry B Smith, Jr., Brison Arnold and Kate Slaughter (Nathan); and her great grandchildren, Megan Harris (Dan), Brittany Hohlt (Arnold), Ocean Smith, Samuel Harris, Van, Luke and Ford Slaughter.
