She was predeceased by: her husband Nelson LeRoy Thornton; her parents, Annie Mae Kimbro Permenter and Claude Oliver Permenter, Sr.; and her siblings, Shirley Permenter Stockwell, O. E. and Billy Permenter.
She is survived by: her daughter Pamela Thornton Crossman; her son-in-law Stanley Crossman; her son Steve; her grandchildren, Kyle (Tresa Thornton), Candy Thornton, Melody (Justin Sheen), Carrie (Doug Hanna), Cody (Macy Crossman), Lee (Tanja Crossman) and Gretchen Blackmon; and her sister-in-law Genell Permenter. She is also survived by 17 great-grandchildren.
