He was predeceased by: his parents, Licurgo Cantu and Rene Toba Cantu; his son Ivan; his brother Lico; his stepfather Manuel Pineda; and his grandparents, Apolinar, Rene Toba, Sebastian and Dolores Cantu.

He is survived by: his significant other Nichole De Coster; his son Erik; his stepchildren, Gaëlle and Sebastien; his siblings, Jorge, Gladys, Astrid, Elaine, Kathy and Evelina; and his close friend Ray-Ray. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
