He is survived by: his wife Diana Lynn O'Steen Johnson; his children, Patrick D. Rainey, Bertha K. Johnson and Willie J. Johnson; his stepsons, Edward Rainey, Timothy Pearson and Daniel O'Steen; and his siblings, Ernest Johnson, Rosetta Johnson Price and Ike Johnson.
