He was predeceased by: his father Napoleon Mackey; his wife Betty Mackey (Green); his mother Willie Lee Mackey (Hill); and his siblings, Elroy Harper Jr., Terry Harper and Maxine Brite (Mackey).
He is survived by: his children, Christine Clark (Mackey) and Don Mackey; and his friend Mary Dean Williams. He is also survived by relatives and friends.
