He was predeceased by: his wife Maria R. Acuna; and his son Joel R. Acuna. He is survived by: his children, Mary Ann Acuna of San Marcos, Samuel Acuna, Sr. of Austin, Refugio Acuna, Jr. of Austin, David Acuna of Austin and Danny Acuna of Austin. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren.
