She was predeceased by: her parents, Horace Sheppard and Blanche Sheppard; her husband Wade Preece; her siblings, Vashti Craig and Garland Sheppard (Wade Preece); and her daughters, Cynthia Lea Preece and Geneva Lois Johnston.

She is survived by: her son-in-law G. W. Johnston of Benton, AR; and her children, James Preece (Deborah) of Eagle Lake, TX, Curtis Preece (Tami) of Richmond, TX, Barbara Graves (Rusty) of New Ulm, TX and Carolyn Morgan (Lester) of Dale, TX. She is also survived by 11 grandkids, 19 great-grandkids, and one great-great-grandson.
