He was predeceased by: his parents, Archie Mae Brice and Andrew Buck Bass; his wife Betty Ruth Lee; and his siblings, Willard Bass, J. W. Bass, Billy Wayne Bass, Evelyn "Polly" High, Wilma "Pat" Hass, Nira Reynolds and Naomi Williams.
He is survived by: his daughters, Aleeda Ruth Barton (Michael Barton) of Longview and Greta Susanne Smith (Ted Smith) of Longview; his grandchildren, Joel Craig Beason (Juanita Beason) of Longview, Alecia Rachelle Howell (Cory Howell) of Daingerfield, Brandon Lee Smith (Rachel Smith) of Nashville and Christen Smith Ferguson (Kyle Ferguson) of Bryant, Arkansas.; his brother Donald Wilburn Bass (Roberta Bass) of Gilmer; his sister-in-law Joyce Yvonne Farris (Billy Don Farris) of Athens; and his great grandchildren, Emily, Elizabeth Beason, Hudson, Presley Howell, Hadley, Harper Ferguson and Julia Smith.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to South Union Missionary Baptist Church, the Scottish Rite Hospital for children in Waco, or a charity or organization of your choosing.
