He was predeceased by: his parents, Bobby L. "Cowboy" and Ruby Barnard Smith; his stepfather Cecil Pearson; and his brothers, Jimmy Smith and Bobby L. "Butch" Smith, Jr..
He is survived by: his wife Deborah Owens Smith of Daingerfield; his children, Andy Smith (Mary) of Burleson, Jessica Almendarez (Shane) of Tyler and Leslie Sheridan (Destiny) of Diana; his siblings, Jacki Brown (Gene) of Naples and Johnny Smith of Daingerfield; and his grandchildren, Mason, Madison Smith, Olivia Almendarez, Alex, Kandon, Ella Sheridan and Anyone.
