He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Frederick Lewis Jones and Kathryn Louise Decker Jones; his sons, Jeffrey Jones (Lashone Jones) and David Jones (Olivia Jones); his grandchildren, Allison Jones, Zachary Jones, Otisha Gibson, Crystal Gibson, Kara Jones, Danlin Wu and Vicky Wu; his great grandchild Kadence Causey; his brother Dick Jones (Norma); his wife Joann McGaughey Jones; and his siblings, Sally Lawrence and Jack Jones. He was also cherished by many nieces and nephews.
