It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Stephen Macrae Smith of Cypress, Texas, born in Dallas, Texas, who passed away on September 19, 2023, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Edgar Carlyle Smith Sr. and Phyllis Matlock Smith; and his brother E. Carlyle Smith Jr. (Ouida D. Smith). He is survived by: his children, Eric C. Smith (Mary Anne Smith) of Hockley, TX and Stephanie Smith Plake (Daniel Plake) of Huntsville, TX; his grandchildren, Eric C. Smith Jr., Sydney M. Smith and Wyatt M Plake; and his brother Stanley Gordon Smith. He is also survived by cousins, nephews, family, friends and grand-dogs.

However, as an alternative to flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Stephen's name to Covenant House of Houston, The Star of Hope, St. Judes Children's Hospital, and the American Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
