He was predeceased by: his parents, Ludwig Knippa and Ella Knippa (Reuther); his son Samuel Knippa; and his parents-in-law, Edgar and Minnie Michalk.
He is survived by: his wife Emogene Knippa; his sons, Matthew Knippa (Christina Baker), Kevin Knippa (Camille Bryant) and David (Jennifer Knippa) of Cypress; his grandchildren, Audrey Lebouef, Matthew Knippa Jr., Beau Knippa, Colt Knippa and Kelby Knippa; and his siblings, Caroline (Frank Malinak), Agnes (Lummus Hannes) and Jeff (Linda Knippa). He is also survived by two great grandchildren.
