He was predeceased by: his father Holland Howard Hestand. He is survived by: his wife Mary Hestand; his mother Karen Laney Curtis; his sister Suzanne Long (Mike); his children, Sam Hestand (Candice), Jacob Hestand, Vanessa Ramirez (Shaun), Jennifer Garcia (David), Jessica Martinez (Tony) and Katie Hestand; and his stepchildren, James Goodner (Kristen), Justin Goodner (Sunni) and Allison Goodner Vergara (Tony). He is also survived by 16 grandchildren.
He died September 16, 2021, at HCA North Cypress Hospital in Houston, Texas due to complications from COVID-19.
