It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Melinda Leigh McDaniel of Cushing, Texas, born in Texarkana, Texas, who passed away on September 26, 2023, at the age of 74, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Clarence Akin and Odessa Marie Ames Akin; and her husband Alvin Lee McDaniel. She is survived by: her sons, Scott Wetz of Cushing, Kelly McDaniel (Austin) of Memphis, Tennesee and Deral Wetz of Texarkana, Texas; her siblings, Mike Akin of Texarkana, Texas and Diane Adcock of Texarkana, Texas; and her granddaughters, Rylie (Austin) and Amy. She is also survived by 3 great grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
