He was predeceased by: his parents, John Henry and Flora Brown Whitehead; his wife Terry Maxine Thornton Whitehead; and his siblings, Leon, Lester, Charlie Whitehead, Ella Pauline Whitehead Thornton and Martha Jewel Whitehead Berryhill. He is also survived by nieces and nephews, several great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.
