He was predeceased by: his parents, Claude Strickland and Flora Bowen Strickland; and his siblings, James Ray, Jerry, Earl Dean, Billy Claude, Linda, Jean and Mary.
He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Burges; his son Derrick Strickland; his grandson Justin; his sisters, Wyonna Lewis and Penny Shelton (Lynn); and his close friend Betty Moore. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
