He was predeceased by: his parents, Eddie Jack Chapin, Sr. and Charlotte Atkins Chapin; his wife Laura Kleeschute Chapin; his daughter Hannah Marie Chapin; and his sister Amy Elizabeth Chapin Doster.
He is survived by: his son Evan Clay Chapin; and his sister Carin Chapin. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
