He was predeceased by: his wife Velda Leick Tieken; his siblings, Edmund Tieken, Herbert Tieken and Luella Mueller; his son Gary Tieken; and his grandchildren, Kortney Tieken and Troy Klaus.

He is survived by: his children, Betty Blank (Ronnie) of Cuero, Linda Mills of Cuero, Laurie Klaus (Larry) of Cuero and Roland Tieken Jr (Karen); his daughter-in-law Pam Tieken of Cuero; his grandchildren, Mike Mills (Monica), April Spears (Todd), Kristie Tieken and Michelle Klaus; his great grandchildren, Mike Mills, Matthew Mills, Tyler Frank, Grayson Spears and Holden Spears; and also Victoria. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
