She was predeceased by: her husband Charles "Chuck" Ralph Clifton; and her brother William "Billy" E. Porche. She is survived by: her children, Kelley David Kahanek (Sarah Leigh) and Ann Renee Kahanek Melton (Rocky) of Edna; her grandchildren, Kelley David Kahanek, William Ross Kahanek (Megan) of Victoria, James Morgan Kahanek (Katie Jordan) of Edna, Ann Marie Melton Hall (Nick) of Houston and Julie Ann Melton Smith (Robert) of Austin; her great grandchildren, Braden Kade Kahanek, Jackson Hunter Kahanek, Taylor Kelley Kahanek, Lillian Grace Kahanek, Callaway Conwell Smith, Beau Melton Smith, Campbell Jennings Smith and Nicholas Andrew Hall, Jr.; her sister-in-law Wanda Porche; and her nieces, Peble Porche Sorenson and Paula Porche. She is also survived by her great nieces and nephews, numerous cousins and many friends.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Mary's name to St. Michaels Catholic Church, 309 E. Church Street, Cuero, Texas 77954 or to Hospice of South Texas.
