He was predeceased by: his parents, Rufus Allen Joyner and Leafy Mae Hartley Joyner; and his siblings, Howard Joyner, Randall Joyner, Charles Joyner, Joyce Watts, Dorothy Cieliesz and Mary Pierce.
He is survived by: his significant other Yvonne Joyner; his children, Kimberly "Kim" Joyner, Karl Joyner (Ruth) and Melissa "Missy" Martelli (Mark); his brother Donald Joyner (Linda); his grandchildren, Tonya Cross-Casado (Jay), Brianna Ward, Carlie Martelli and Mikayla Martelli (Jake Gottlob); his great grandchildren, Maryanda, Aleighna, Elizabeth and Noah Cross-Casado; and his pet Bella. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
