He was predeceased by: his parents, Joe Stary and Cecilia Sassin Stary; his former wife Barbara Alyen Cain Stary; his son Bennie Wayne Stary; and his brothers, Victor, Daniel and Jimmie Stary.
He is survived by: his wife Ellen Parma Schley of Michael's Catholic Church; his children, Tammy Stary Grahmann of Yoakum, Lisa Schley Lucia (Jeff) of Houston and Shannon Stary of Fort Worth; his grandchildren, Kylie, Kaeden, Kenzie Grahmann, Jacob, Jaxson and Emily Lucia; and his sister Becky Stary. He is also survived by his nieces, nephews and many cousins.
Visitation was held on Friday, November 29th 2024 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the St. Michael's Catholic Church (309 E Church St, Cuero, TX 77954). A rosary was held on Friday, November 29th 2024 at 9:30 AM at the same location. A funeral service was held on Friday, November 29th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Friday, November 29th 2024 at 1:30 PM at the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery (605 Sheehan St, Yoakum, TX 77995).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions may be made to St. Michael's Catholic Church or School.
