He was predeceased by: his parents, Karl Schley and Hilda Wehe Schley; his brother Karl Schley; his half-brothers, Herman Schley, Ervin Schley, Victor Schley and W. G. Schley (Rusty); and his uncle Edwin Wehe.
He is survived by: his children, Karen Arguellez (Chris) of Yorktown, Kenneth Schley (Kelli) of Cuero and Kyle Schley of Cuero; his siblings, Liz Joiner, Hilda Parsons of Victoria and Bobby Schley; and his grandchildren, Abby, Kyler (Karter Schley), Layton Depine and Laynee (Kelton Eaton).
