He was predeceased by: his parents, Seth Pettus Bell and Julia Rogene Patterson; his wife Sarah Eleanor Westerbeck; and his siblings, Jeannine Reeves and Don Bell.
He is survived by: his children, Cynthia Goodwyn (Bruce) of Boerne, Ken Bell (Micki) of Stephenville, Patrick Short (Tricia) of Rockwall and Becky Capt (Carper) of Uvalde; and his grandchildren, Candyce Goodwyn of Boerne, Seth Bell (Amber) of Stephenville, Jared Capt (Jessie) of Uvalde, James Bell (Jacque) of Joshua, Byron Capt (Stephanie) of Uvalde, Ben Bell (April) of Iowa Park, Ryan Short (Megan) of Dallas, Lucy Reinhardt (Uvalde), Rachel Short of West Chester, PA, Seth Pettus Bell, Louis Jared Capt, James Clayton Bell, Bryon Stockley Capt, Benjamin Kyle Bell and Patrick Ryan Short. He is also survived by fifteen great grandchildren.
A funeral service was held on Saturday, January 25th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the First Baptist Church (408 N Gonzales St, Cuero, TX 77954). A reception was held on Saturday, January 25th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be sent to Bibles for Peoples at 210 North Esplanade Street, Cuero, Texas 77954 or The Scholarship Fund at First Baptist Church at 408 N. Gonzales, Cuero, Texas 77954.
