He is survived by: his wife Billie James; his sister Belle Vestal; his sons, Nicky (Tamera James), Tony (Shelia James) and Tim (Melita James); and his grandchildren, Shane James, Shelly Kinney, Michael James (Wyndi), Misty Lemberg (Jo), Jesse James (Amber), Joley Payne (Jerod), Sadie James, Katie Whitsell (Lewis), Luke James and Taryn Kinkade (Kolton). He is also survived by 18 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
