He was predeceased by: his parents, Rossie B. Truett (Boone) and H. N. Truett; his daughter Baby Rhonda; his siblings, Peggy Rice and Kenneth "Clabber" Truett; and his sister-in-law Patsy Arthur.

He is survived by: his wife Virginia Truett (Arthur) of Crosby; his son Billy; his daughter-in-law Dana Truett of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; his daughter Jane Beth; his son-in-law Rocky Dewitt of Birmingham, Alabama; his grandchildren, Brenna Truett of El Dorado, Aaron Truett of Summerset, Jessica (Chris Allen) and Jonathan (Sara Dewitt); his great grandchildren, Lane Allen of Birmingham, Bethany Allen of Birmingham, Emily Anne Allen of Birmingham, Eva Dewitt of Atlanta, Georgia and Audrey Dewitt of Atlanta, Georgia; his sister Sarah Colwell of Huntington; and his sister-in-law Anne Hilliard of Cleveland. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
