He was predeceased by: his father Rev. Lieutenant Russell; his stepfather Johnny Goldsmith; his mother Verdell Goldsmith; and his sister Jacquelyn Russell. He is survived by: his wife Bobbie J. Russell; his children, Dr. Matasha Thomas (Cedric) of Houston, TX and Kevin Crump of Crosby, TX; his siblings, Sandra Boyd (Charles) of West Monroe, LA, Mayomey Lawson of West Covina, CA, Willa Jean Glover of Inglewood, CA and Lieutenant Russell, Jr. of Norfolk, VA; his mother-in-law Essie M. Crump of Beasley, TX; his siblings-in-law, Josephine Walker of Kendleton, TX, Dorothy Spencer of Huntsville, TX, Joyce Mayberry of Rosenberg, TX, Elmo Crump of Beasley, TX and Jerry Crump (Kathy) of Rosenberg, TX; and his goddaughters, Tracy Warner of Missouri City, TX, Karisha Kennedy of Katy, TX and Amber Vaughn of Pearland, TX. He is also survived by aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
