He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Fulton Kersey and Dennie Shipes Kersey. He is survived by: his wife Jonetta Kersey of Crosby, TX; his children, Shannon, Brack Lastinger of Jesup, Ashley Kersey of College Station, TX and Michael Kersey of Jesup; his siblings, Annette (Mike O'neal), Debbie Wood (Stan Brewer) of Lumber City, Janie (Wilbur Breedlove) and Terry; his sister-in-law Elaine Kersey of Lyons; and his grandchildren, Marlie Rae Lastinger, Sammie Lastinger and Brody Lastinger.
