He was predeceased by: his parents, Dallas Cecil Stringer and Naomi Ruth Wolfe Stringer; his wife Mary Tidwell Stringer; and his son Jason Stringer. He is survived by: his children, Tim Springer (Katherine) of Crockett and Elizabeth Middleton of Tatom; his granddaughters, Kayla and Mistie Middleton; his great grandchild Elias Middleton; his brother Charles Stringer (Joyce) of Lufkin; and his nephews, Michael Stringer and John David Stringer.
