He was predeceased by: his parents, Ben L. Sargent and Ida King Sargent; and his wife Carolyn Ann Sargent. He is survived by: his children, Karen Baker (Buddy) of Spring, Matthew Dwayne Sargent of Crockett and Gene Sargent, Jr. of Conroe; and his grandchildren, Adam Baker, Alan Baker, Lauren Worall, Holly Keith, Amy Andrews, Kayla Marie Sargent, Jay Allen Sargent, Chris Goodlander and Craig Goodlander. He is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren.
