He was predeceased by: his parents, Eddie Munsell Sheppard and Beason D. Sheppard; his wife Mary Chambliss Sheppard; his daughter Mitzi Lee; and his brothers, B. D. "Buck" Sheppard and Larry Dow Sheppard.

He is survived by: his daughter Nikki Lin Sheppard; his niece Jana Sheppard Backfisch; and his nephews, John Mark Shepard, Cody Don Sheppard and Bradley Dean Sheppard.
