With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Martha Lou Burnett of Cotton Center, Texas, who passed away on November 8, 2023. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Forest Sageser and Emma Sageser (Pool); her husband W. E. Burnett, Jr.; her siblings, Emma Frances McCluskey, Jack Sageser and Max Sageser; and her children-in-law, Wesley Ahrens and Connie Burnett.

She is survived by: her children, Carolyn Johnson (Jim) of Greenville, TX, Janice Ahrens of Fulshear, TX, Troy Burnett (Saralyn) of Cotton Center and Kyle Burnett (Kimberly) of Cotton Center; and her grandchildren, Amy Ahrens Rowzee (Chris), Brad Ahrens (Kristi), Brian Johnson (Carolina), Craig Johnson (Jessica), Abbie Burnett Lankitus (David), Macie Burnett, Cassie Burnett, Darcie Burnett and Amber Teal (Slade). She is also survived by 12 great grandchildren.

“Martha Lou was very protective of her kids and Kyle, Troy, I don't have any phone number or address or any other method to call or talk to y'all. Martha Lou's passing was inevitable however this still leaves a sadness in me to know she's gone. I am so very sorry and to Carolyn and Janice their families, and their kids my goodness! Martha Lou has left quite a legacy.... 12 great grandchildren! Pat and I sent flowers but on such short notice, I couldn't make the trip although I wish I could.”
