It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Rafael Garcia (Mexia, Texas), who passed away on January 27, 2025, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though Rafael may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the echoes of his kindness, the warmth of his embrace, and the light of his enduring love.
He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Suzanne; his children, Brenda Gonzalez, Margarita Contreras, Jesse, Rafael Jr., Raymond Garcia and Papu; his parents, Petra Garcia and Nicolas Garcia-Ramirez; and his former wife Yolanda Margarita Garcia.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 31st 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Corley Porter Funeral Home (208 N Canton St, Mexia, TX 76667). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 1st 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the River of Life Church (1201 E Commerce St, Fairfield, TX 75840). A graveside service will be held on Saturday, February 1st 2025 from 12:25 PM to 12:40 PM at the Mexia City Cemetery (1001 N Kaufman St, Mexia, TX 76667).
