She was predeceased by: her parents, Samuel Cates and Edith Cates (Phillips). She is survived by: her husband Frank; her children, Mark (Siriwipa), Sandy (Brian) and Mike (Vivian); her grandchildren, Tessa, Evan, Mila and Wesley; her friend Melissa White (Carl) of Corsicana; her granddaughter Eleanor Rey; and also, Jade, Skylar Diaz of Leon, Jagger Glenn and Hannah Basden.
In honor of Marie's memory, donations may be made to the Navarro College Department of Visual Arts.
