He was predeceased by: his parents, Marshall Dykes and Pallie Dykes (Hughes); his sister-in-law Vickie Frankens; and his mother-in-law Rosemary Frankens. He is survived by: his wife Sudy Dykes of Corrigan; his sons, Blake Dykes of Corrigan and Shane Dykes (Paige) of Lufkin; his sister Jeannie Ford of New Jersey; his grandchildren, Phillip Anthony Dykes, Jaycee Cale Dykes, Mark Grayson Dykes, Marshall Robert Dykes and Lane Loggins; and his close friend Jimmy Francois.
