He was predeceased by: his parents, Maria Guadalupe (Delgado) and Eulogio Vargas; and his siblings, Rodrigo Vargas, Ignacio Vargas, Santos Vargas and Eulalia Vargas.
He is survived by: his children, Bonifacio Vargas (Gumercindo Vargas), Maria G. Vargas (Guillermo Corona), Asiano Vargas (Lucero Luevano), Armando Vargas (Margarita), Jose Martinez (Aurora Vargas) and Rodrigo Vargas (Elida Vargas); his grandson Martin Vargas; the mother of his children Margarita Rodriguez; and his siblings, Cruz Vargas, Socorro Rodarte, Chon Vargas, Francisca Vargas, Martin Vargas, Concepcion Vargas and Rosario Vargas. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews.
