He was predeceased by: his parents, James Thomas Cowan and Mary Alice Cowan (Burch); his wife Carolyn Cowan; his son Gary Cowan; and his sister Jackie Moad.
He is survived by: his children, Nancy Cowan of Hutto, Texas, Clint Cowan (Cathy) of Dallas, Jason Cowan (Michelle) of Chester and Jeremy Cowan (Jamie) of Chester, Texas; and his sister Judy Carlton (Terry) of Diboll, Texas. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren; along with numerous other relatives and friends.
