He was predeceased by: his parents, Ross Abel and Dorothy Abel (Rabke); and his brother Harvey. He is survived by: his daughter Wendy Abel (Craig Lifton); his siblings, Susan Adams (Ken) and Brad Abel; his cousin Nancy Brackeen (Wayne); his niece Lisa Semper (Elaine Gomez-Greenfield); and his nephews, Tim Adams (Nancy), John Abel and Austin Abel (Geordian).
Visitation was held on Saturday, April 5th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Freund Funeral Home (213 N Gonzales St, Cuero, TX 77954). A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 5th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Association of Former Students of Texas A&M University or the Coastal Conservation Association (CCA).
